Video surveillance

A strong and functional video recorder as destination hardware, running a Linux based system. What could be easier than starting a device that fits in one’s palm and works in complete silence? For anyone, who would rather avoid the troubles of a Windows based PC, but needs a truly robust device to display camera views, maybe to measure body temperatures, to know the number of people entering an area or the number of occupants, the SCM 256 Techson miniserver is the best choice!

THE TECHSON SMARTCENTER MINISERVER

A Linux Based SmartCenter Server

Techson TCP SCM 256 miniszerve A silent, quite small miniserver has just arrived for the professional running of SmartCenter VMS software managing all Techson recorders and cameras together. Given its 3 cm "width" it can easily fit even behind a display screen. However, this is clearly not the best of its qualities!

In case of multiple recorders, centralized display facilitates the management of camera systems consisting of a high number of devices. At the same time, the running of a client-software on a PC is not always practical due to high energy consumption, large dimensions, the need for maintaining the operating system and other disadvantages resulting from the system itself. The Techson miniserver is certainly a little David, who comes and defeats the big Goliath. It is resourceful, smart and fearless.

The Techson Miniserver – Great in Terms of Simplicity

An alternative to the Windows PC is the SCM 256 miniserver, which also includes a Linux based, readily installed SmartCentert. This small-sized device offers a care-free solution to the problem without the need to learn using a new software instead of the SmartCenter already known from the PC. The SCM 256 Techson miniserver is an excellent choice for anyone seeking an almost unnoticeable, yet all-round device.

  • Compact, small design
  • 256 built-in licenses (non-expandable)
  • Maximum number of devices 64
  • 128 GB built-in SSD
  • 6 USB ports
  • Bi-directional audio
  • 1 4K HDMI output
  • 1 Full HD VGA output
  • Live image display: up to 32 channels simultaneously
  • Playback: up to 16 channels simultaneously
  • VCA signals
  • Alarm management
  • E-map (Google and bitmap)
  • Parking management
  • Thermal camera
  • Face recognition
  • Monitor wall management

Running a special software version – similar in structure, but stronger than SmartCenter Lite – with added functions taken from the Standard version, this device is entirely functional even on its own. It can register up to 64 NVR-s or 256 IP-cameras. Its 4K HDMI output can be connected to an UHD TV-set, realizing a home surveillance system right away. The Techson miniserver will meet expectations in case of business establishments, offices and other facilities as well. Connecting a thermal camera with face recognition or body temperature detection, or a terminal with a thermometer, or mask detection technology, the SCM 256 will get down to work straightaway. It will either monitor the body temperature of people entering, or register the number of occupants in the store, even in case of multiple entrances.

What more does this smart, video surveillance control centre has to offer?

It manages the recorders and cameras, obviously, but that was not even a question. At the same time, however...

  • It controls PTZ-s and monitors incoming alarms.
  • It reads the VCA signals of smart cameras, and is capable of recognising important or unauthorized visitors.
  • It displays the status of cameras and relays on an e-map (Google and bitmap based).
  • It is capable of managing company parking lots, and if required, it can draw up an attendance list based on the face dataset of employees.
  • Further advantages of the device include a two-way audio connection, 6 USB ports, a 128 GB SSD and a high number of compatible devices.

It has it all from the PC-based Standard SmartCenter version, and with the expanded number of channels, instead of its previous 32 channels, the new owner of this surveillance system will immediately receive 256. The miniserver works in complete silence and may as well be easily hidden – even behind a display screen – leaving only the pleasure of its use behind.
