Techson’s recently launched intercom system has quickly demonstrated that a doorbell is no longer just a simple signaling device, but an integral part of a modern security network. Following the pioneering success of the highly popular single-unit TCT DB102, the lineup now expands with two new outdoor units, taking access control and monitoring to an even higher level: the TCT DS202 and the TCT DS202 BN, featuring a numeric keypad.
The new models move beyond the limitations of traditional outdoor intercom units. The integrated 2-megapixel camera not only provides video but also incorporates Techson’s most advanced analytical capabilities. With a nearly 140° field of view and true WDR (Wide Dynamic Range), the devices deliver clear and detailed images of visitors even in strong backlight or low-light conditions.
What truly sets these units apart, however, is the intelligence typical of Techson devices:
Techson engineers placed strong emphasis on modularity and scalability. While the earlier DB102 model primarily targeted individual users, the new DS series is designed to meet more complex requirements:

Both models include two independent relays and support Mifare (13.56 MHz) and RFID (125 kHz) access cards. Door access can be controlled through white lists and other access lists, while security is further enhanced by a built-in tamper switch that immediately signals if someone attempts to remove the unit.

As expected from Techson systems, compatibility and integration are comprehensive. The devices support both WiFi and PoE connectivity, ensuring flexible installation options. In addition to indoor monitors (such as the previously introduced Techson IS716 as well as the newly released IS400 and IS404, indoor units, which will be presented in our next article), users can also access the system through a mobile client and P2P connection, allowing them to monitor and control their entrance from anywhere at any time. Within the SmartCenter VMS, incoming calls can also trigger pop-up notifications, which is particularly useful for reception desks, security rooms, or concierge services.
The system is also designed to work as a true team player: up to 10 intercom units can operate within a single network (1 master unit and up to 9 extension units), ensuring full coverage for multiple entrances in larger properties.
The Techson DS202 and DS202 BN are more than simple intercom devices—they function as compact security hubs. Whether installed in a modern duplex house or a busy office building, these units combine state-of-the-art facial recognition technology with reliable access control in an elegant wall-mounted enclosure measuring only 17 × 9 cm. Once again, Techson proves that security begins exactly where the visitor stops—right in front of the door.
