The Techson IP camera range has been extended with a new professional member. This device, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, produces 8 Mpixel wide-angle images by merging four full HD image sensors and their objectives by means of a software. This surveillance camera will work perfectly even under extreme conditions!
The TCI MA0 M108 IS ADM S4 panoramic camera provides more information than any earlier type. The 8 Mpixel wide-angle image is produced by combining four full HD image sensors and their associated objectives with the use of a software.
This wide-angle surveillance camera, referred to in short as the M108 which is not to be mistaken for the spiral galaxy having the same name in the constellation Ursa Major, was particularly designed for outdoor use. The strong metal housing is capable of withstanding even the roughest weather conditions. Its IP67 protection is complemented by an IK10 impact resistance, making the device vandal-proof. It performs perfectly even at night: as little illumination as 0.03 lux is enough for the IP camera to produce a colour image, although in the dark the built-in HiPower IR LEDs also ensure the necessary amount of illumination in 180°.
The True 120 dB WDR and the integrated backlight compensation feature ensures unsurpassed image detail even among extreme illumination conditions.
The M108 surveillance camera is equipped with all the features it may need to do the job. It includes an SD card slot for photos and videos. Thanks to the microphone connector and the line outlet it is capable of recording sound, or even handling a bi-directional audio link, and in addition to the alarm inlet and outlet, and the RS485 connector it also has a CVBS port. The Techson wide-angle camera can be powered from a 12V power supply unit, but the easiest method is to use a PoE 802.3at standard supply switch.
In order to answer that question, it is worthwhile to understand its method of operation first. There are four independent cameras contained inside the surveillance camera. Each camera has a horizontal angle of view slightly over 45°, so together they cover 180°. The integrated software merges the four images, and produces a single panoramic image with a 4096x1800 pixel resolution.
The sensors are aligned vertically, so the final result consists of four images with a 1080x1920 resolution and some margin, that is required for accurate alignment. Perhaps, the cameras seem to be far from one another, and one would expect that anomalies caused by angle differences in the joints, will also be visible to the naked eye. But this is not the case! The functionality of the merging technology can only be noticed, when moving objects are observed with the camera within a 3m distance. Since no one would consider the installation of such a wide-angle device in a narrow space, alignment errors will never be seen under general use.
The M108 wide-angle IP camera will prove to be most efficient in the monitoring of large spaces, long fences and walls both indoors and outdoors. It is fit to perform the job of three or four conventional cameras, while using only one channel from among the NVR resources.
